I had already known that a lot of people pooped while giving birth, but it was something I learned fairly recently. For some reason, they don't cover that in the "where did I come from?" type kids' books (and I don't know why not, kids love poop).

I was also amused by the detail in your post about Alex drumming along with the noises you were making, because I can totally picture him doing that, it's so in-character for him.
